Genetic Resources focuses on reducing the overall cost of cow herd production.  This approach allows our clients to utilize bulls that fit with their production goals. If added growth or carcass traits are desired, clients utilize bulls designed for those purposes on Genetic Resources females to produce calves that meet their individual goals. Reducing production costs, while increasing calf value is the best of both worlds.

Some clients are interested in reducing production cost, while having a bit more calf growth. If that is a goal, we offer Angus/Fleckvieh genetics or “flecks” as they are known at Genetic Resources. The “flecks” were developed with the same Angus genetics and management, with the addition of small amounts of production oriented Fleckvieh genetics. The result are black hided cattle, with an occasional white face, that look like our registered Angus cattle. The “flecks” also offer a bit of heterosis for those looking for that advantage.
